Hill Air Force Base Museum - Free Activity

Did you know it's completely free to visit the Hill Air Force Base Areospace Museum? I didn't know it was free, until my sister told me. We went for a visit a few weeks back, and my boys LOVED it! We didn't realize how early they close, so we did have to hurry through it, but it was fun. If you are interested in going, and would like more information, click here.

Barnyard Buddies at Garnder Village

With school starting for my kids yesterday, the last couple of weeks have been busy, and we haven't been going out and doing as many activities! However, I did find out that at Gardner Village, they have a Barnyard Buddies Petting Zoo & Pony Rides. It is not a free event, but it's inexpensive. If you would like more information click here. They also have a lot of ducks at Gardner Village, and it would be a fun place just to walk around, and that would be free.

Thanksgiving Point - Two Buck Tuesday Recap

I headed down to Thanksgiving Point a couple days ago to get in on the good deal. Just a word of warning, if you go for the two buck Tuesday, be prepared for crowds! When we pulled in, the line to get into the Museum of Ancient Life was all the way out to the crosswalk going across the road. WOW! So we decided to go to Farm Country first. Farm Country wasn't too crowded, after that we headed up to get some $.50 ice cream cones at the Deli. We got in that line just in time, right before the line got HUGE! Then we headed to the Museum of Ancient Life, and we walked right in and only had to wait in line for a minute. The museum itself was packed, though! After going through the museum as quickly as we could (we were short on time), I decided that it almost might be worth going there and paying full price. There is quite a lot to see!

Sweet Candy Company - Free Factory Tour

Yesterday my sister and I took our kids and went to Sweet's for a free tour! My kids were SO excited to get to go to a real candy factory! Sweet's has been making candy for a LONG time!! It started in 1892 in Portland, OR and in 1900 it all moved to Salt Lake. They are still going strong, and you can go see what it's all about! You get to watch them make candy as you go through the tour. They give you a piece of candy or two as well. They also have a gift shop to visit at the end. Sweet's is open for tours Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The tours last 40 min. Sweet Candy Company is located at 3780 West Directors Row (1100 South) in Salt Lake City. You must call or make a reservation online to schedule your tour. To make a reservation and for more information about it all, click here. You can also view the tour guidelines here.

Utah Museum of Natural History

Today is Free Museum Monday at the Utah Museum of Natural History. Every month the first Monday is free admission. We've been a few different times, and even though we've been before, my kids still love to go. For more information, visit their website here.

Also, if you click here you can find out a little bit more information about the free day.

Wheeler Farm - Free Activity

Wheeler Farm is a fun place to take kids, and it's totally free to walk around and look at the animals. They do have some fun activities to do, that you can pay a minimal amount for.

You can help milk cows, cost is $.50. We did not participate in this because it was not going while we were there, but I thought it sounded like fun.
They also have pony rides. Cost is $3.00. We were there later than 3:00 so we didn't see this either.
They also have other activities you can do, that cost a small fee. For more information click here.

Here are some of the animals that we saw.

And the historic farm house.
